Description
Flood Advisory issued May 7 at 3:01AM EDT until May 7 at 10:45AM EDT by NWS State College PA
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of central Pennsylvania, including the following
counties, Adams, Blair, Centre, Cumberland, Franklin, Fulton,
Huntingdon, Juniata, Mifflin, Perry and York.
* WHEN...Until 1045 AM EDT Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Small streams and creeks are elevated near bankfull levels and may
rise out of their banks.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 247 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen over the
advisory area, resulting in minor flooding in poor drainage
areas and along small streams and creeks.
- Additional rainfall of 1 to 1.5 inches is expected over the
area through the afternoon. This additional rain will
continue to produce minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Altoona, York, State College, Chambersburg, Carlisle,
Hanover, Weigelstown, Waynesboro, Mechanicsburg, Lewistown,
Camp Hill, Gettysburg, New Cumberland, Huntingdon, Parkville,
Red Lion, Bellefonte and Enola.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
